Hirose Suzu to star in new NTV Winter 2018 drama "anone"

Hirose Suzu will be starring in the new NTV Winter 2018 drama "anone" which will be shown from January in the Wednesdays 10pm timeslot and is her last leading role in a drama in her teens. The drama's script will be written by Sakamoto Yuji and directed by Mizuta Nobuo and has the theme of asking the viewers what it means to live.

In this drama, Hirose plays the role of a 19-year-old girl whose family members had died and is living in solitude without being noticed by everyone. Being in financial difficulty, she can only move around with her skateboard and stays overnight at an Internet cafe. She then bumps into an elderly woman played by Tanaka Yuko who invites her to live together at her house where the two of them who have lost faith in people, hatch a plan to deceive the world. In order to prepare for the filming, Hirose has already started learning how to ride on the skateboard. Since her character is poor, she will have to wear plain clothes and shed her usual innocent and cute image.

Hirose said that she had always liked Sakamoto's works such as "Mother" and "Woman" so she was very happy when she got the offer for this drama and is eagerly awaiting the start of the filming. Especially since this will be her last drama in her teens, she hopes to be able to convey the feelings of her character through her perspective at this age. As for Tanaka who appeared both in "Mother" and "Woman", she said that the energy bursting from Sakamoto's script and Mizuta's directing is so great that she hopes to be able to keep up with the tempo as the story progresses.
