Completion press conference of new WOWOW drama "Heisei Sarukani Gassenzu"

The completion press conference of new WOWOW drama "Heisei Sarukani Gassenzu" was held on 5 November which was attended by the cast Suzuki Kyoka and Koura Kengo, the director Yukisada Isao and singer Shionoya Sayaka who is singing the theme song "Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii" (Even so, the world is still beautiful). The drama which will begin its run from 15 December at 10pm on Saturdays, features Koura as a bartender who unwittingly ends up being a candidate running for office in The House of Representatives after he meets a manager for a cellist (Suzuki). Even though this is the first time that Suzuki and Koura have worked together, Suzuki was full of praise for her co-star and even promised to support him if he does stand for election one day. Koura also complimented his co-star for being an elegant and classy person and asked her to be his secretary if he does take part in an election in future.

Suzuki Kyoka & Koura Kengo to star in new WOWOW drama "Heisei Sarukani Gassenzu"

Suzuki Kyoka and Koura Kengo will be working together for the first time in the new WOWOW drama "Heisei Sarukani Gassenzu" which comprises of six episodes and is due to be shown this autumn. The drama is based on the novel by Yoshida Shuichi and Yukisada Isao, the director of hit movie "Sekai no Chuushin de, Ai wo Sakebu", will be making his debut as a drama director for this production.

The story is based on the folklore of a child crab who vows to take revenge on a monkey after its parent crab was deceived and killed by the letter. Suzuki plays the role of the manager of a cello player who hates politicians but accidentally ends up helping a naive bartender run for office in the House of Representatives in a bid to change the world and get over her psychological barrier of not trusting politicians. Koura plays the role of the bartender who comes from a countryside town and works at Kabuki-cho that undergoes a massive change in his life after meeting Suzuki's character.
