Traffic safety event attended by cast members of "Doubles ~ Futari no Keiji"

Cast members of spring 2013 drama "Doubles ~ Futari no Keiji" i.e. Ito Hideaki, Sakaguchi Kenji, Uchida Yuki and Natsuna appeared at the traffic safety campaign event held at the west exit of Shinjuku station on 6 April. As Ito and Sakaguchi play police detectives from the Shinjuku Chuo Police Station, they were the invited to join the event which is the first drama-related one to be held at Shinjuku station's west exit. 1,000 people came to attend the event which was heavily guarded by 70 police officers.

Ito also received a certificate of appreciation from Shinjuku Police Station for their participation. This makes it the third certificate Ito had received since he also got it from the Japan Coast Guard when he acted in the Umizaru series and another one from the Tokyo Fire Department when he appeared in the movie "252 Seizonsha Ari". When asked about the selling point of their drama, Natsuna commented that Ito and Sakaguchi's shower scenes are worth checking out especially since they have such great figures which led to the two guys smiling in embarrassment.

Ito Hideaki & Sakaguchi Kenji make surprise appearance at TV Asahi's new employees event

Ito Hideaki and Sakaguchi Kenji who are the co-leads for TV Asahi's spring 2013 drama "Doubles ~ Futari no Keiji" which begins its run from 18 April at 9pm on Thursdays, made a surprise appearance at the TV station's new employees' entry ceremony held on 1 April. The two of them took time off their filming schedule so that they could congratulate the 27 new employees for their fresh start.

Ito Hideaki & Sakaguchi Kenji in spring 2013 drama "Doubles ~ Futari no Keiji"

Ito Hideaki and Sakaguchi Kenji will pair up in the TV Asahi spring 2013 drama "Doubles ~ Futari no Keiji" which begins its run from April in the Thursdays 9pm timeslot. This is the first time in 10 years since the two of them last worked together in 2002 FujiTV drama "Tentai Kansoku" but they have been in contact all this while despite not working together. Ever since then, the same-age friends who were both born in 1975 had gone on to achieve success in their signature roles i.e. Senzaki Daisuke in the Umizaru series for Ito and Asada Ryuutarou in the Iryu series for Sakaguchi. As they are both tall and well-built, they tend to get mistaken for each other especially when they go to the suburbs. Ito related that he was once told by someone that he was touched for "Iryu" and Ito could only manage a "thank you" without correcting the mistake. Sakaguchi also had similar experiences because he was once identified as the guy who appeared in Umizaru. Ito went the extra mile to "impersonate" as Sakaguchi by signing the latter's name at a restaurant when someone identified him wrongly again.

This time round, they play police detectives who work together to fight crime in the Shinjuku area where Ito plays Yamashita, a happy-go-lucky guy in contrast with the serious yet passionate Tashiro played by Sakaguchi. Both of them expressed hope that this drama would become as famous as TV Asahi's signature detective series "Aibou" and make it to the silver screen one day.
