The 16th Nikkansports Grand Prix (Winter 2013)
This is a rather small-scale survey since there are less than 1,000 votes so the results tend to be heavily skewed and quite different from the general opinion or what you see in The Television Awards. Please don't be upset if your favourites or those who you think deserves an award doesn't appear here. ^__^
Numbers in brackets indicate number of votes.

Fukuyama Masaharu to sing theme song for TBS Winter 2013 drama "Tonbi"
Fukuyama Masaharu will be singing the theme song for TBS Winter 2013 drama "Tonbi" which begins it run from January at 9pm on Sundays. The ballad titled "Tanjoubi niwa Masshiro na Yuri wo" (Pure white lillies on your birthday) is his first song that talks about love between parents and their children. Fukuyama remarked that he had never written any song with his own parents and elder brother in mind and it took him three months before he could think of the lyrics which is in line with his usual practice of sending flowers to his mother every year on his birthday and thanking her for giving birth to him. Fukuyama was in charge of the lyrics while Lily Frankie came up with the melody for the song. As Fukuyama's father passed away when he was 17, he also included in the song his thoughts about how things would be different if his father was still around.

Uchino Masaaki & Sato Takeru in Winter 2013 drama "Tonbi"
Uchino Masaaki will be starring in the TBS Winter 2013 drama "Tonbi" which is due to begin its run in January next year in the Sundays 9pm timeslot. The story is based on a novel by Naoki Award author Shigematsu Kiyoshi published in 2008 and features Uchino as Ichikawa Yasuo, a single father who works as a truck driver and has to raise his only son Akira alone during the Showa era after his wife passed away due to an accident when Akira was just 3 years old. The teenager and adult version of Akira from 16 to 30 years old will be played by Sato Takeru while Yasuo's wife will be played by Tokiwa Takako. The drama which will be produced by the same crew that worked on TBS hit drama "JIN", will adopt Akira's viewpoint when he becomes an employee at a publishing company and his father's life is shown in the form of flashbacks. Co-stars of this drama also include Fukiishi Kazue and Emoto Akira.
