Completion screening event of new movie "Taiyo"

The completion screening event of new movie "Taiyo" was held on 7 March which was attended by cast members Kamiki Ryunosuke, Kadowaki Mugi, Furukawa Yuki and Furutachi Kanji. The movie which will be shown in cinemas from 23 April, was shot during winter in 2014 at Chichibu in Saitama Prefecture. When asked to reflect on the filming, Kamiki exclaimed that it was really freezing and he had to paste as many as 8 heat packs on his body until he started feeling hot. Nonetheless, he felt very satisfied with the end product as he had put in his best for the filming. On the other hand, Furukawa revealed that Kamiki didn't seem as cold as he claimed because the latter was the only one not wearing a bench coat and guessed that Kamiki must have been feeling hot because he was too agitated during an emotional scene. In response, Kamiki stressed that he was freezing for the rest of the time and that was the only time he felt hot.

During the event, whenever Kamiki and Furukawa looked at each other, there were screams from the audience mainly made up of women which led Furutachi to ask jokingly if he could be included in the exchange between the two actors.

Kamiki Ryunosuke & Kadowaki Mugi team up in new movie "Taiyo"

Kamiki Ryunosuke and Kadowaki Mugi will be the leads in the new movie "Taiyo" which is due to be shown from 23 April. The movie which is based on the stage play by "Gekidan Ikiume" led by Maekawa Tomohiro, is directed by Irie Yu whose previous works included "Joker Game".

The story is set in the early days of the 21st century where the human population has greatly decreased due to bio-terror. As a result, there are two types of human beings i.e.  the new breed called Nokusu and the old breed named Kyurio. The Nokusu cannot withstand sunlight and lives at night only but they are in control of the resources, lord it over the Kyurio, have young bodies and high intelligence. On the other hand, the Kyurio are suffering due to the fight against the Nokusu and live in poverty. One day, when a Kyurio man kills a Nokusu person, this leads to economic sanctions against the Kyurio thus making the conditions tougher for them. In the midst of this, Okudera Tetsuhiko (Kamiki) aspires to join the Nokusu society despite being a Kyurio while his childhood friend Ikuta Yui (Kadowaki) hates the Nokusu and wants to resurrect her ailing hometown. Co-stars also include Furukawa Yuki, Ayata Toshiki, Mizuta Koki, Takahashi Kazuya, Moriguchi Yoko and Murakami Jun.

Before the release of the movie, the novel version of Taiyo will be published in February 2016 by KADOKAWA.
