First-day screening event of new movie "TOO YOUNG TO DIE! Wakakushite Shinu"

The first-day screening event of new movie "TOO YOUNG TO DIE! Wakakushite Shinu" was held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills on 25 June which was attended by the director Kudo Kankuro and cast members Nagase Tomoya, Kamiki Ryunosuke, Ono Machiko, Morikawa Aoi, Kiritani Kenta, Seino Nana, Furutachi Kanji and Minagawa Sarutoki. The movie features Kamiki as a senior high school student Daisuke who ends up death in a bus accident while on a school trip and falls into hell. While there, he joins a hell's band made up of devils played by Nagase, Kiritani and Seino.

The movie was originally scheduled to be screened from 5 February but due to the ski bus accident in Nagano Prefecture on 15 January, the screening was postponed. As such, the cast were especially happy that the movie can finally be seen by viewers. Nagase recounted that the filming was done exactly one year ago from the screening date and he was very glad to see that the movie can be screened now especially since he thought that they had a wonderful crew and cast to make this possible. Kudo addressed the full-house audience that as the movie is based on the hell depicted in Buddhism, he jokingly called upon them to view this movie multiple times so as to do a good deed for them.

When asked who they thought was a devil among them, Kiritani said that Kamiki was very much like one. He explained that when they were having curry one day during the filming, everyone was shocked to see Kamiki putting just one teaspoon of the curry sauce with the rice on his plate even though everyone else had equal portions of the rice and curry sauce on their plates. As such, they all thought that he was abnormal from that point onwards. Nagase also recounted one incident when Kamiki had to be tied and hung up in the air during an interrogation scene, he told the staff not to let him down during the filming breaks and smiled to them that he was fine being hung up as it was. As such, they thought that he seemed to relish being tied up and hung in this manner and concluded that he was abnormal after all.

When asked who they wanted to be if they went through reincarnation, Kamiki said that he wanted to become Nagase as he was very impressed with how the latter played the guitar. Nagase recounted that this is the first time in a long while since he and Kamiki worked together and he was especially happy to see how much Kamiki had grown over the years.

"TOO YOUNG TO DIE!" to be postponed for release due to bus accident in Karuizawa

Asmik Ace and Toho announced that the movie "TOO YOUNG TO DIE!" which had been scheduled to be screened in cinemas from 6 February, will be postponed for release due to the bus accident in Karuizawa-machi, Nagano which resulted in the deaths of 15 people. The movie which is directed by Kudo Kankuro and features Kamiki Ryunosuke and Nagase Tomoya as the leads, talks about how a senior high school student Daisuke (Kamiki) dies during a bus accident while on a school trip and ends up in hell. He meets Kira K (Nagase) the vocalist and guitarist of the band "Hells" from the Hell Agricultural Senior High School who tries to help Daisuke come back to life so that he can reunite with his classmate who he had been holding a torch for. As the movie contains scenes about a bus accident which is likely to make people think of the recent Karuizawa bus accident, the movie companies decided to shelve the release of the movie for the time being. In relation to this move, the screening event and the talk event "Meet the Filmmaker" featuring Kudo on 22 January at Tokyo Apple Store Ginza will be cancelled. The new release date of the movie has not been decided.

Nagase Tomoya & Kamiki Ryunosuke to star in Kudo Kankuro's new movie "TOO YOUNG TO DIE! Wakakushite Shinu"

Nagase Tomoya and Kamiki Ryunosuke will be starring in the new movie "TOO YOUNG TO DIE! Wakakushite Shinu" which is the 4th movie directed and written by Kudo Kankuro and due to be shown in cinemas from Feb 2016. To date, Nagase has worked with Kudo multiple times in dramas such as "Ikebukuro West Gate Park", "Tiger & Dragon" and "Unubore Deka" and movie "Mayonaka no Yaji-san Kita-san". The two of them had talked about doing a movie with a music theme so Nagase expressed his joy about their plan finally materialising in this movie. As for Kamiki, he last worked in a Kudo drama in "11nin mo iru". Nagase and Kamiki last worked together in the drama "Mukodono" 15 years ago.

The movie features Kamiki as Daisuke, a student who loses his life due to an accident while he is on a school trip. However, he is bent to get out of hell so as to confess his love for his classmate who he has been holding a torch for. In hell, Daisuke meets Killer K (Nagase), the adviser to the school band named Hells at Jigoku Agriculture High School who helps him with his dream.

Kamiki revealed that as part of the preparation for this movie, he had to learn how to play the guitar and sing. Although he had played the guitar occasionally during his junior and senior high school days, Kamiki said that it was more pressuring this time since he was not playing it for leisure. When asked about their feelings about working with each other after such a long period of time, Nagase praised Kamiki for becoming such a fabulous actor and looks forward to the chemistry arising from their interaction. As for Kamiki, he said that he was just a Primary 3 student when he met Nagase and he still sees the latter as a gentle elder brother and looks forward to working with him now that he is also an adult.

Filming began in the middle of May and is expected to wrap up in summer.
