Katori Shingo, Suzuki Honami, Tanihara Shosuke & Nishiuchi Mariya in FujiTV Spring 2014 drama "SMOKING GUN ~ Ketteiteki Shouko ~"

SMAP's Katori Shingo will be starring in the FujiTV Spring 2014 drama "SMOKING GUN ~ Ketteiteki Shouko" (SMOKING GUN ~ Definitive Proof) which will begin its run from April in the Wednesdays 10pm timeslot. The drama is based on the manga serialised in Grand Jump since 2012 which features Katori as Nagareta Enishi who is a forensics expert that works on difficult cases. Nagareta's trademark is his messy hairstyle and he looks somewhat funny in a formal suit. With regard to this, Katori thinks that it is a refreshing change from his past roles and that there are many interesting facets to this character.

Co-stars include Suzuki Honami who plays the director of the forensics department, Tanihara Shosuke who plays a police detective of the Metropolitan Police Department's first section and Nishiuchi Mariya who tries to find out the truth behind her father's mysterious death.

Suzuki last worked with Katori in the 1997 drama "Boku ga boku de aru tame ni" and she commented that it's been a long 17 years since they worked together but she thinks that he has become someone who she can rely on now and thus she feels assured that they will be able to work well together this time too. As for Tanihara, he said that he has worked together with Katori many times and feels that Katori will be able to pull off this character as well.
