First-day-screening event of new movie "Aku to kamen no ruuru"

The first-day-screening event of new movie "Aku to kamen no ruuru" was held at Shinjuku Wald 9 on 13 January which was attended by the director Nakamura Teppei and cast members Tamaki Hiroshi, Araki Yuuko, Yoshizawa Ryo and Nakamura Tatsuya. The story is based on the same-titled novel by Akutagawa Award-winning writer Nakamura Fuminori and features Tamaki as the lead character Kuki Fumihiro who was born into a rich family. The movie begins at the time when Fumihiro was only 10 years old and came to know about the secret behind his birth and upbringing. His birth father who was the head of the household told him how he had raised his son with the aim of turning the latter into a personification of evil and "promised" to show him hell on his 14th birthday. However, one year before that, he was made to see hell first hand when Kaori, his father's adopted daughter and whom he liked, was raped in front of him. In order to protect his beloved, Fumihiro killed his father which meant that he was one step closer to the evil which his father wanted him to become. He then disappeared from Kaori's side and took on a new identity as Shintani Koichi who protects Kaori (Araki Yuuko) from the shadows over more than ten years. While doing so, he comes into contact again with the evil in the Kuki family which is now headed by Fumihiro's elder brother Mikihiko, a greater personification of evil.

Preview screening event & press conference of new movie "Aku to kamen no ruuru"

The preview screening event and press conference of new movie "Aku to kamen no ruuru" was held at Umeda Burg 7 in Osaka on 8 December  which was attended by the lead actor Tamaki Hiroshi. The movie will be released in cinemas from 13 January and is based on the same-titled novel by Akutagawa Award-winning writer Nakamura Fuminori.

Uru to sing the theme song for new movie "Aku to kamen no ruuru"

Uru will be singing the theme song for new movie "Aku to kamen no ruuru" starring Tamaki Hiroshi which will be shown in cinemas from 13 January 2018. The song titled "Tsuioku no futari" was written by Uru herself specially for this movie. Uru commented that she used her own interpretation of the world depicted in the movie in a bid to understand the feelings of the characters. In addition, the story had such depth which featured a sad love story and the ugly side of humanity so she was very mindful of not spoiling the feel of the movie with her melody and lyrics. Last but not least, she expressed her joy in being given a chance to sing the theme song for this movie.

Yoshizawa Ryo will be playing the terrorist Ito Ryosuke who recruits Fumihiro into the terrorist organisation JL while Mikihiko will be played by Nakamura Tatsuya. Emoto Akira will be playing Aida, the police detective who is hot on the heels of Fumihiko as a murder suspect and Mitsuishi Ken will be playing Sakakibara, a private detective who used to be hired by Fumihiro's father and is now helping Fumihiro.

The movie will be shown in cinemas next year.

Araki commented that she is very happy to be able to act in this movie since she is a fan of the novel but she also feels the pressure. As Kaori is the symbol of hope for the lead character Fumihiro, she hopes to be able to show the pure and kind-hearted sides of Kaori through her acting. She also emphasized that the movie showed how people can be very strong if they have someone who they love and treasure so she hopes that the audience will be able to appreciate this through watching the film.

Tamaki Hiroshi to star in new movie "Aku to kamen no ruuru"

Tamaki Hiroshi will be starring in the real-life movie adaptation of novel "Aku to kamen no ruuru" (The rules of evil and the mask / English title: Evil and the Mask) by Akutagawa Award-winning writer Nakamura Fuminori which was listed as one of the top 10 mystery novels of 2013 by Wall Street Journal. The movie will be directed by Nakamura Teppei and is scheduled to be shown in cinemas next year.

Tamaki commented that his character is a very delicate person and it is difficult to play him. Although Fumihiro went through plastic surgery to change his looks, it can't change his interior which consists of his rational side to fight against evil and his weakness deep within. He hopes that this movie will help viewers relook at their ideas of what kindness, evilness, true love, family and friends mean to them.
