First-day-screening event of new movie "Kimi to 100 kaime no koi"

The first-day-screening event of new movie "Kimi to 100 kaime no koi" was held at TOHO Cinemas Shinjuku on 4 February which was attended by the director Tsukikawa Sho and cast members miwa, Sakaguchi Kentaro, Ryusei Ryo, Mano Erina and Izumisawa Yuki. With regard to seeing the movie being finally ready to be screened, miwa commented that they had put in their all to make this film and hopes that everyone can be touched by it. As for Sakaguchi, he revealed that it was difficult for him to imagine being that much in love with his childhood friend as depicted in the movie so he had to practice his lines with his manager but was always "scolded" for getting the feeling wrong.

In line with the movie's title, the cast were asked what they would do 100 times to protect. In response, Sakaguchi said that he won't do it 100 times but will just achieve his aim at one go. Upon hearing this, miwa was baffled by his answer and commented to Ryusei who was beside her that she couldn't understand what Sakaguchi was driving at.

Despite the movie being a romance story, miwa, Sakaguchi, Ryusei and Izumisawa's characters are members of the same band so they went out to sing karaoke during the filming and spent a lot of time together. Sakaguchi commented that as this is the first time he played the guitar so he was unsure whether he should concentrate on his playing or singing during the performances.

Completion screening event of new movie "Kimi to 100 kaime no koi"

The completion screening event of new movie "Kimi to 100 kaime no koi" was held at Yomiuri Hall on 12 December which was attended by the director Tsukikawa Sho and cast members miwa, Sakaguchi Kentaro, Ryuusei Ryo, Mano Erina and Izumisawa Yuki. The movie which is due to be shown in cinemas from 4 February next year, is an original story by Oshima Satomi which features Sakaguchi in the role of Riku who goes through a time leap multiple times so as to save his childhood friend Ami (miwa).

The director Tsukikawa commented that the five actors were able to deliver scenes which are bound to make the audience feel tingly and he was able to show the cute sides of both the guys and gals in the movie. He also added that the serious scenes will make people cry so this should be a film that will exceed expectations.

Sakaguchi remarked that this movie will make people feel like they want to fall in love with someone and play in a band while miwa commented that the theme of living to the fullest and not be trapped by the past and uncertain future is an important message shown in the movie. miwa who also wrote the insert song in the movie, said that the singing scene had no lines so she had to rely on the lyrics to convey the feelings of her character thus she hopes that the audience can listen to it carefully while watching the movie.

When the actresses were asked what they would like a devoted guy to do for them, miwa answered that she would like the guy to put a coat over her when it is cold while Mano hoped for a guy to cook for her even though he may be bad at it. At the same time, when Ryuusei jokingly asked Izumisawa the same question, he replied that a guy who could kiss his girl passionately would be very good which led the audience to burst out laughing.

miwa & Sakaguchi Kentaro to star in new movie "Kimi to 100 kaime no koi"

Singer-songwriter miwa and Sakaguchi Kentaro will be the joint leads in the new movie "Kimi to 100 kaime no koi" (The 100th romance with you) which will be screened in cinemas from February 2017. The manga version will be serialised in "Shukan Young Jump" from the 28th April issue while the novel version is set to be released after autumn. miwa plays the role of an university student Aoi who gets into an accident. In order to save her, Riku (Sakaguchi) who is Aoi'c childhood friend, goes back into time repeatedly to do everything he can. miwa will be singing the theme song which will be played within the movie while the two of them will also play together in a band with their friends in the movie.

miwa mentioned that when she read the script, she was so saddened by the ending that she kept crying. As compared to when she sings her own songs, she finds it interesting to be singing it with a band. Although this is already the second movie she is acting in, miwa expressed her worry about having to say so many lines this time due to her inexperience but is glad to work with the cast of which many including Sakaguchi are about the same age as her.

Sakaguchi who is playing a guitar for the first time, commented that having to sing with a guitar in front of an audience is something he had never experienced before. However, he hopes to put up a good performance so will spend time trying to get better at it. As for his co-star miwa, he commented that it should be an enjoyable experience to work with her on this movie.
