First-day-screening event of new movie "Sensei! ... Suki ni natte mo ii desuka?"

The first-day-screening event of new movie "Sensei!...Suki ni natte mo ii desuka?" was held at Shinjuku Picadilly on 28 October which was attended by cast members Ikuta Toma, Hirose Suzu, Ryuusei Ryo, Morikawa Aoi, Kentaro, Nakamura Tomoya and the director Miki Takahiro. Ikuta expressed his view that he hoped that the movie would reach as many people as possible as they spent a lot of effort and time working on this one year ago. Hirose also said that she hoped that the movie will give some encouragement to those who are feeling unsure about taking the first step in love.

Completion screening event of new movie "Sensei!"

The completion screening event of new movie "Sensei!" was held at Tokyo International Forum on 26 September which was attended by the director Miki Takahiro and cast members Ikuta Toma, Hirose Suzu, Ryuusei Ryo, Morikawa Aoi, Kentaro, Nakamura Tomoya and Higa Manami. The movie will be shown in cinemas from 28 October.

Spitz to sing the theme song for new movie "Sensei!"

Spitz will be singing the theme song for the new movie "Sensei!" starring Ikuta Toma and Hirose Suzu. The song titled "Uta Usagi" was specially written for the movie which will be shown in cinemas from 28 October and is the band's first movie theme song in 9 years. The band commented that not everything is sweet and beautiful in love but that is also what makes love memorable and meaningful. While thinking back about their embarrassing memories of love in the past, the band wrote this song which they hope will suit the movie.

The movie which is based on the same-titled manga by Kawahara Kazune that was serialised in Bessatsu Margaret between 1996 and 2003 and had sold more than 5.7 million copies to date, features Ikuta as a world history teacher Ito Kousaku who seems aloof on the surface but treats his students very well and thinks a lot for them. Upon interacting with Ito, his student Shimada Hibiki (Hirose) falls in love with him and confesses her feelings for him. However, Ito is hardly moved by this as he had grown to distrust women due to his last breakup. Nonetheless, Hibiki's love finally moves him and the two of them begin a forbidden romance as they grapple with the tough circumstances they are in.

Hirose Suzu & Narita Ryo reportedly dating?

Hirose Suzu and Narita Ryo are said to be dating, as reported on 31 December. The two of them first got to know each other after working in the NTV Winter 2015 drama "Gakkou no Kaidan" and are said to have started dating since last autumn. It was also reported that they had been sighted together at a convenience store in Tokyo.

Coincidentally, Narita had worked with Hirose's elder sister Arisu in the movie "L" shown last year and the latter had picked him as the No.1 guy she would choose among her co-stars.

Hirose's new movie "Chia*Dan" will be released in March this year and has another movie "Sensei!" due to be shown in autumn. As for Narita, he is due to appear in the upcoming FujiTV Winter 2017 drama "Daibinbou" which begins its run from 8 January and his latest movie "Kiseki - Ano hi no sobito -" will be shown in cinemas from 28 January.

Supporting cast lineup of new movie "Sensei!" announced

The supporting cast lineup of new movie "Sensei!" starring Ikuta Toma and Hirose Suzu was announced. In this movie, Ikuta plays the role of a senior high school teacher Ito Kousaku while Hirose plays his student Shimada Hibiki who falls in love with him.

Ryusei Ryo will play the role of Kawai Kousuke and Morikawa Aoi plays Chigusa Megumi who are both members of the same archery club at school which Hibiki belongs to and are supporters of Hibiki's romance. Kentaro will play the ace archer Fujioka Yusuke from the archery club of Kita Senior High School which is the rival of Hibiki's school Minami Senior High School and falls for Hibiki after meeting her at an archery competition. Nakamura Tomoya plays Sekiya Masato who is Ito's colleague while Higa plays Nakajima Sachiko who is an arts teacher at the same school as Ito and wooed aggressively by Kousuke who is her student.

The movie will be shown in autumn 2017.

Ikuta Toma and Hirose Suzu will be involved in a forbidden romance between a teacher and his student for the new movie "Sensei!" (Teacher) which will be shown during autumn 2017. The movie which is based on the same-titled manga by Kawahara Kazune that was serialised in Bessatsu Margaret between 1996 and 2003 and had sold more than 5.7 million copies to date, features Ikuta as a world history teacher Ito Kousaku who seems aloof on the surface but treats his students very well and thinks a lot for them. As Ikuta had worked with the director Miki Takahiro before in the 2012 movies "Bokura ga ita", this is the first time in 5 years that he is appearing in another romance movie. The script will be written by Okada Mari who was responsible for the anime, novel and movie versions of "Ano hi mita hana no namae wo bokutachi wa mada shiranai" and "Kokoro ga sakebitagatterunda". In preparation for the filming, Hirose had to undergo more than 1.5 months of training in archery as Hibiki is a member of the archery club.

Ikuta commented that he is looking forward to working with Hirose for the first time and hopes to be able to play his role well. As for Hirose, she feels a bit shy about acting in such a love story but will try hard to convey her character's love for Ito-sensei.

Filming begins next month.
