Hirosue Ryoko to star in new NHK drama "Seijo" as an evil woman

Hirosue Ryoko will be taking on her first leading role in a NHK drama when she plays a woman suspected of being a serial murderer and is also involved in an incestuous relationship with the lawyer who defends her in "Seijo" which begins its run from 19 August in the Tuesdays 10pm. As this is the first time she is playing an evil woman, Hirosue expressed her excitement about it and pledged to work hard to play this character.

Hirosue's character is an illustrations coordinator who has a mysterious past and is caught as a suspect for a serial murder case. Unexpectedly, she reunites with her former student (Nagayama Kento) who she taught during his high school days as a home tutor as he becomes her defence lawyer. As they used to have feelings for each other at that time, their reunion ignites the spark between them again as the evilness of Hirosue's character is exposed during the trial.

Co-stars include Renbutsu Misako who plays Nagayama's fiancee, EXILE's Aoyagi Sho who plays Nagayama's elder brother, Tabata Tomoko and Tanaka Yoji who play Nagayama's colleagues and fellow lawyers while Kishibe Ittoku plays his boss at the law firm.
