Yoshida Kotaro to return in new SP of "Tokyo Sentimental" in March 2018

Yoshida Kotaro will be back in the new SP of TV Tokyo's drama series "Tokyo Sentimental" along with regular cast members Takahata Mitsuki and Katagiri Jin. The SP titled "Tokyo Sentimental ~ Ochanomizu no Koi ~" will be shown at 12.12am on 30 March and is the latest installment in the series which had two SPs in 2014 and 2017 and a full drama in 2016. Yoshida plays the role of Japanese sweets maker Kururi Takuzo who had gone through 3 divorces and is currently single. In each episode, he falls in love with different women but these relationships never bear fruit. Takahata plays Sudo Akane who works part-time at Kururi's shop while Katagiri plays Shibata Koukichi, a barber who is a longtime friend of Kururi.

"Tokyo Sentimental" to be back as a drama SP

TV Tokyo's Winter 2016 drama "Tokyo Sentimental" will be back as a drama SP to be shown either at the end of this year or beginning of next year. The drama series which featured Yoshida Kotaro as a thrice-divorced wagashi master who falls for different women in every episode but to be rejected by them every time, began as a drama SP in late 2014. In this latest SP, the heroine will be played by Takahata Mitsuki while Katagiri Jin who had appeared in the drama series, will be reprising his role as an old friend of Yoshida's character Takuzo. In addition, the drama SP will feature Takuzo's first wife and son as he has to meet his son's future wife during a meal. However, things do not end well as he gets into an argument with his future daughter-in-law's aunt but this marks the beginning of a new romance for him.

The prayer and offering of thanks ceremony for TV Tokyo Winter 2016 drama "Tokyo Sentimental" was held recently at Atago Shrine in Tokyo which was attended by the lead Yoshida Kotaro. The drama which began its run from 15 January in the Fridays 12.12am timeslot, features Yoshida as the lead character who is a thrice-divorced wagashi master looking for love. Yoshida commented that he hopes his prayer for high ratings will be answered and everyone in the cast and crew will work hard to make a drama which will be loved by viewers. As Yoshida announced his marriage to his wife on New Year's Day, he also commented that although he is done with seeking freedom in love now, his character will continue the journey to do so in the drama.

Yoshida Kotaro gets married for the fourth time

Yoshida Kotaro announced his marriage to his fourth wife through a fax statement released by his agency on 5 January. He revealed that he had met his wife who is 22 years younger than him i.e. 34 years old during an acquaintance's party in September 2015 and started dating soon after that. In early December, Yoshida proposed to her and they submitted their marriage application on New Year's Day. According to some female magazines, Fujiwara Tatsuya was the matchmaker for Yoshida but the latter's agency has denied such reports. Although Yoshida did not file an official marriage application with his first common-law wife, he had gone through three divorces in the past thus this will be his fourth marriage. There are no plans for a wedding and his wife is not pregnant now. Yoshida's agency mentioned that his wife is from the Kansai region and is a slim woman who has short hair.

Coincidentally, Yoshida is starring in the upcoming TV Tokyo Winter 2016 drama "Tokyo Sentimental" which begins its run from 15 January where his character happens to be a wagashi master who has gone through three divorces and is looking for love.

Oguri Shun to appear in TV Tokyo Winter 2016 drama "Tokyo Sentimental"

Oguri Shun will be appearing in the upcoming TV Tokyo Winter 2016 drama "Tokyo Sentimental" starring Ysohida Kotaro in his first leading role in a drama. The drama which begins its run from 15 January 2016 in the Fridays 12.12am timeslot, features Yoshida as the owner of a traditional wagashi maker who has been divorced thrice and describes how he comes to fall in love with the women he meets one after another. Oguri plays the role of a soba restaurant owner who is the romance adviser of Yoshida's character.

With regard to his appearance in this drama, Oguri joked that Yoshida "forced" him to act in the drama and said that the lead character seems to be specially tailored for the latter as they are both exactly the same. Oguri and Yoshida became close friends after they worked on a stage play in 2004. Ever since then, whenever Yoshida has a new romantic interest, he would introduce the lady to Oguri who would then assess whether she would be suitable for Yoshida. As such, Yoshida said that the exchanges between them in the drama are reflective of what they talk about in real life.

The first lady of interest in the drama will be played by Kusakari Tamiyo who used to be a ballerina.

Yoshida Kotaro to star in TV Tokyo drama SP "Tokyo Sentimental"

Yoshida Kotaro will be taking on the leading role in the TV Tokyo drama SP "Tokyo Sentimental" which will be shown in December. This will be his second leading role in a drama SP within this year as he also appeared in one of the stories in FujiTV's "Yo ni mo Kimyou na Monogatari" which was aired on 18 Oct.

Yoshida plays the role of a Japanese sweets master who leads a carefree life in a suburb area of Tokyo after going through three divorces. He then reunites with a woman who he used to love and the romance between them is rekindled. His assistant at the sweets shop will be played by Takahata Mitsuki.
