First-day-screening of movie "Kenchou Omotenashika"

The first-day-screening event of movie "Kenchou Omotenashika" was held on 11 May 2013 at TOHO Cinemas Nigeki 2 which was attended by cast members Nishikido Ryo, Horikita Maki, Funakoshi Eiichiro, Koura Kengo and Seki Megumi. Nishikido plays an employee of the Kochi Prefectural Government's newly set-up hospitality department where he has to work with Horikita & Co. to promote tourism to Kochi. As such, he also took on the role of being the first-day-screening event's host and even reminded the audience before the screening of important things such as switching off their phones and not taking any pictures during the screening. Since Nishikido was not used to hosting events on his own, he called upon his co-star Horikita for help since she had been the Kouhaku host last year. With response to his "plea" for help, Horikita jokingly said that she would help if Nishikido paid her for it which the latter responded in the affirmative.

Completion screening of movie "Kenchou Omotenashika"

The completion screening of movie "Kenchou Omotenashika" was held on 17 April which was attended by Nishikido Ryo and Horikita Maki. The movie will be screened in cinemas from 11 May 2013. Nishikido and Horikita stood at the lobby of the event menu to welcome the 1,100-strong audience and even took up the task of making venue announcements. As Horikita stumbled while making her announcement, she apologised for the slip-up.

Nishikido was asked by the press about his rumoured relationship with Aragaki Yui but he denied the report from FRIDAY and stressed that he and Aragaki are just good friends. He also clarified that he had not been to Aragaki's apartment as mentioned in the report and that he was at his friend's place which was in the same building.

Launch event of promotional campaign for "Kenchou Omotenashika"

The launch event to mark the start of the promotional campaign for new movie "Kenchou Omotenashika" was held on 3 March which was attended by its leads Nishikido Ryo, Horikita Maki and Funakoshi Eiichiro in Kochi City where the movie is set. The film is scheduled to be screened in cinemas from 11 May. The trio appeared at the Sunday market held near Kochi Castle which consists of 420 shops along a 1.3km route where they greeted about 1,000 locals and tourists.

The movie features the hospitality section in the Kochi Prefectural Government office which aims to boost tourism in the area and stars Nishikido as a newbie who works hard to achieve this. Filming was done in Kochi between September and October last year on location inside the prefectural government's office. Until the movie is screened in May, the trio will embark on a promotional campaign spanning 20 cities from Sapporo to Nagasaki. The movie's theme song "Koko ni shikanai keishiki" sung by Kanjani 8 will be released on 24 April.

Nishikido Ryo & Horikita Maki in new movie "Kenchou Omotenashika"

Kanjani 8's Nishikido Ryo and Horikita Maki will be starring in the movie "Kenchou Omotenashika" (Hospitality division of the prefectural office) which is due to be shown in May next year. The story is based on the same-titled novel by Arikawa Hiro, the author better known for "Toshokan Sensou" which is set in the tourism hospitality division that really exists in Kochi Prefectural Office. The two of them will play employees in this division which strives hard to boost the tourism industry in the prefecture. Nishikido's character will be Kakemizu Fumitaka, a young employee who's kind but clumsy and unable to react accordingly to circumstances. On the other hand, Horikita plays Myojin Taki, a part-time worker in the same division.

Filming will begin in September and the Kochi Prefectural Office has given full support by helping to construct the set in their premises and featuring the key tourism spots in their locality.
