First-day-screening event of new movie "Saiki Kusuo no Sainan"

The first-day-screening event of new movie "Saiki Kusuo no Sainan" was held at Marunouchi Picadilly on 21 October which was attended by the director Fukuda Yuichi and cast members Yamazaki Kento, Hashimoto Kanna, Arai Hirofumi, Yoshizawa Ryo, Kasahara Hideyuki, Kaku Kento and Muro Tsuyoshi. The film is based on the same-titled popular manga by Aso Shuichi and features Yamazaki in the role of a senior high school student named Saiki Kusuo who possesses strong supernatural powers that constantly gets him into trouble. With the annual cultural festival coming up soon, Kusuo hopes that he would be able to get through it peacefully but gets embroiled into a huge mess by his strange classmates like Teruhashi Kokomi (Hashimoto) who has a wild imagination.

Completion screening event of new movie "Saiki Kusuo no Sainan"

The completion screening event of new movie "Saiki Kusuo no Sainan" was held on 28 September which was attended by the director Fukuda Yuichi and cast members Yamazaki Kento, Hashimoto Kanna, Arai Hirofumi, Yoshizawa Ryo, Kasahara Hideyuki, Kaku Kento, Muro Tsuyoshi, Sato Jiro and Uchida Yuki. The movie will be shown in cinemas from 21 October.

Yuzu to sing the theme song for new movie "Saiki Kusuo no Sainan"

Yuzu will be singing the theme song for new movie "Saiki Kusuo no Sainan" starring Yamazaki Kento which will be shown in cinemas from 21 October. The song titled "Koi, hikemashita" was written by Kitagawa Yujin after reading the manga with the image of the lead character who has a supernatural power but yearns to lead an ordinary life. The release date of the song is yet to be confirmed and it will be played in the trailers showing at cinemas from 14 July. This will be the first theme song for a real-life adaptation movie from Yuzu since the song "Hidamari" for 2014 movie "Gin no Saji Silver Spoon"

The movie which is based on the same-titled popular manga by Aso Shuichi, features Yamazaki in the role of a senior high school student named Saiki Kusuo who possesses a strong supernatural power that constantly gets him into trouble.

Yamazaki Kento to star in new movie "Saiki Kusuo no Sainan"

Yamazaki Kento will be starring in the new movie "Saiki Kusuo no Sainan" (The disaster of Saiki Kusuo) which is based on the same-titled popular manga by Aso Shuichi serialised since 2012. The movie will be directed by Fukuda Yuichi who is also making the movie adaptation of another popular manga "Gintama". Yamazaki plays the role of a senior high school student named Saiki Kusuo who possesses strong supernatural powers that constantly gets him into trouble,

News of this movie adaptation first came out in June 2015 but there was no follow-up until now. At the time when the offer to make the manga into a movie was made to Aso, he had chosen Fukuda to be the director and the latter had agreed to it readily. Even though Yamazaki was selected to be the lead actor soon after, the lack of updates to the film's production led Aso to think that the project was probably going to be scrapped. Especially when Aso saw news that Fukuda was going to direct "Gintama" as well, he wondered if Fukuda was ever going to have time for his movie. In response, Fukuda revealed that there were some issues that prevented them from making further announcements on the production of this movie. He himself also thought that it was a case of bad timing that news of "Gintama" came out while the fate of "Saiki Kusuo no Sainan" was not confirmed. However, now that things have settled down, he hopes to be able to do a good job for this film and said that he had already finished the script way before he did the same for "Gintama".

This movie will begin filming in the autumn of 2016 and is due to be shown in cinemas next year.
