The first-day-screening event of new movie "THE LAST COP Last Cop" was held at Marunouchi Picadilly on 3 May which was attended by the director Inomata Ryuichi and cast members Karasawa Toshiaki, Kubota Masataka, Sasaki Nozomi, Fujiki Naohito, Kohinata Fumio, Wakui Emi, Kurokawa Tomoka, Takeuchi Ryoma, Matsuo Satoru, Sakurai Hinako, Takeda Rena and Ito Sairi. The movie will feature 10 multiple surprise endings featuring the characters 30 years from now which will be shown at random during this three-week period after the ending credits. With regard to filming these different endings which were screened at one go during the event, Karasawa said that it took them about 6 to 7 hours just to do the special effects make-up.
During the event, Kubota represented the cast in reading out a letter addressed to Karasawa where they pledged to keep the spirit of "Last Cop" forever and pledged to follow the latter's lead going forward. In response, Karasawa said that he also had a surprise for Kubota by giving him a jacket similar to the one worn by Karasawa's character Kyogoku. However, the jacket was obviously too small for Kubota which led Karasawa to joke that he should not give it to Kubota after all even though he had bought it specially for the occasion. This led Kubota to say that the jacket will stretch after some time so there was no issue even if it was too small for now.
