Uehara Takako will be appearing in Ep 8 of FujiTV Spring 2017 drama "Kizoku Tantei" to be shown on 5 June. She plays the role of Nirayama Hitomi who is an assistant professor and the senior of Takatoku Aika (Takei Emi) during their university days. They used to be belong to the mystery research club. In conjunction with her role's setting as a leading researcher of fungi, Uehara will sport a mushroom-cut hairstyle in the drama.
In Ep 8, Hitomi invites Aika to meet her at the university where she works at now. Going back to campus, Aika is filled with nostalgic memories of their days back in university. To her surprise, Aika finds Kizoku Tantei (Aiba Masaki) at Hitomi's office and finds out that he met Hitomi at a party and was invited to come and see a new type of mushroom which Hitomi had discovered. Just then, they find that a student of Hitomi's research class has been murdered...
Uehara commented that she was happy to be given a chance to participate in the filming and meet the charismatic cast members. As for working with Aiba for the first time, she revealed that her impression of him was exactly the same as what she saw and it was easy to chat with him since they are of the same age. With regard to putting on the mushroom-style wig, Uehara admitted that she wasn't used to it at first but gradually grew accustomed to it that by the end of the filming, she found her original hairstyle to be odd instead.
