The premiere event of new movie "Hikari" was held at United Cinema Toyosu on 9 November which was attended y the director Oomori Tatsushi and cast members Iura Arata, Eita, Hasegawa Kyoko and Hashimoto Manami. The movie will be shown in cinemas from 25 November.
The movie is based on the theme of violence in daily life and describes how Nobuyuki, a junior high school student who lives on Mihamajima, a remote island in Tokyo, commits a crime when he tries to protect his classmate and girlfriend Mika. On the following day, the island is struck by a huge disaster thus leaving a few survivors including Nobuyuki, Mika, their childhood friend Tasuke and a few others. 25 years on, Tasuke appears again in front of Nobuyuki who is already married and reveals that he has a secret about the latter. Iura will play the 39-year-old Nobuyuki while Eita plays the role of Tasuke. Hasegawa will play Mika who tries to bury her past and survive in showbiz and Hashimoto will play Namiko who is Nobuyuki's wife.
Iura who had always wanted to work with Eita one day, approached the director and revealed how much he "loved" the latter and was very happy about their collaboration. Even before the filming began, he was already filled with anticipation about how the two of them would interact and looked forward to the filming every day. In response, Eita said that he already admired Iura when he was still a model and was filled with joy and nervousness about working with his idol. He revealed that the first scene they shot together was the meeting of Nobuyuki and Tasuke after 25 years and he couldn't help but squeal in delight. As such, he believed that this movie will become a legendary work of the two of them. The director also revealed that in the second half of the movie, there is a scene where Iura had to pounce onto Eita and their faces were at such close distance which led him to wonder if he was witnessing a boys' love scene. However, Iura said that he "loves" Eita so much that he didn't feel it this way but was puzzled by why that scene might be interpreted as such.
Hashimoto reflected on her bed scene with Eita in the movie which she wasn't sure about how to handle it at first. However, the director suggested that she follow Eita's lead since he was more experienced in such scenes. Surprisingly, Eita exclaimed that he had never acted in such an intense intimate scene before and was shocked and impressed with Hashimoto's acting skills. Hashimto also remarked that she found it difficult to tell what kind of person Iura was during the filming and thought that things between them were quite distant even though they played a married couple. To her surprise, Iura gave her a signed copy of his photography book after the filming concluded which made her so happy and relieved that they had finally become closer.
