Top 10 favourite CM brands for 2017 (CM Databank)

The following is the list of top 10 favourite CM brands as surveyed by CM Databank for the period of November 2016 to October 2017. The No.1 CM brand i.e. KDDI / au's Santaro series has won the title thrice in a row featuring characters played by Matsuda Shota, Kiritani Kenta, Hamada Gaku, Arimura Kasumi, Nanao and Suda Masaki while other telcos like NTT DOCOMO and Softbank took the No.2 and No.3 spots respectively.

The numbers in the brackets indicate the ranking held by the company/brand in the previous year's ranking while the names of the CM personalities are those who play main roles or are featured prominently in the CM series concerned. As such, not all those who appear in the CM series may be mentioned here. Nonetheless, this type of ranking is often seen as a barometer of the celebrities' popularity and exposure.
