THE YELLOW MONKEY to sing the theme song for TBS Autumn 2016 drama "Suna no Tou ~ Shirisugita Rinjin"

THE YELLOW MONKEY which reunited in January this year, will be singing the theme song for the TBS Autumn 2016 drama "Suna no Tou ~ Shirisugita Rinjin" which will be the rock band's first single in 15 years and 9 months. The song titled "Primal" will be released on 19 October and is the first theme song in 19 years since the band's "BURN" which was used for the 1997 TBS drama "Shokuinshitsu".

The drama which begins its run from 14 October in the Fridays 10pm timeslot, features Kanno Miho as the lead, a housewife who has just moved into a high-rise condominium complex where she faces a possible disintegration of her family due to her strange neighbour played by Matsushima Nanako. The medium-tempo theme song describes the pride, vanity, jealousy, messy relationships and human dynamics among the women living in the condominum. Vocalist Yoshii Kazuya commented that they hope that the song will be the icing on the cake for the drama and marks the return of a new THE YELLOW MONKEY after they tried various things to come up with the new song.
