Kimura Fumino & Matsuda Shota announced to be the leads for TBS Spring 2018 drama "SICK'S Jo no Shou"

Kimura Fumino and Matsuda Shota were revealed to be the leads for TBS Spring 2018 drama "SICK'S Jo no Shou" which is the latest installment and finale in the "SPEC" series which featured past combinations of Nakatani Miki & Watabe Atsuro in "Keizoku" and Toda Erika & Kase Ryo in "SPEC". The drama will be shown via video streaming platform Paravi from 1 April in a "pincho" format where clips of 1 to 2 minutes will be released daily so a full episode will be spread across an entire month. By the end of the month, the full version of the episode will be repackaged as one video to be watched at one go. The platform is a joint venture by TBS, The Nikkei, TV Tokyo, WOWOW, Dentsu and Hakuhodo DY Media Partners which was launched in July 2017 and charges a monthly subscription fee of 999 yen (inclusive of tax) for videos which can be streamed on TV as well.

Kimura will play the role of 30-year-old Mikuriya Shizuru, a SPEC holder who wears a bandage on her right eye. Having an IQ of 230 and being a graduate of Harvard University, Shizuru is unstable mentally due to a past trauma and has the tendency to hurt herself. On the other hand, Matsuda plays Takakura Hiroyo who is a detective at the public security section of Metropolitan Police Department but becomes wanted by his team as he got involved in a case related to SPEC holders. Despite having a strong sense of justice, he is unable to fit in with his surroundings and can be tactlessly honest at times.

Kimura commented that when she first got the offer, she wasn't sure if she could handle this role. However, she made up her mind as she felt assured by the presence of the staff and her partner Matsuda who expressed his faith in this drama as one which they were given a huge degree of freedom to play their characters.

Soooo does this mean each episode will take a month to be released? Because I read an article from cinematoday.jp that said the same thing about 1-2 minutes of each episode being released per day... Wouldn't that take months then? :o

It does seem like one episode will be shown per month. The thing is, they didn't even confirm how many episodes it will be. I suspect it's going to consist of at least 6 episodes because they were counting up to six (SICK'S) in the trailer.
