The completion screening event of new movie "Chihayafuru - Musubi -" was held at TOKYO DOME CITY HALL on 20 February which was attended by the director Koizumi Norihiro and cast members Hirose Suzu, Nomura Shuhei, Arata Mackenyu, Kamishiraishi Mone, Yamoto Yuuma, Morinaga Yuuki, Yuki Mio, Sano Hayato, Kiyohara Kaya, Matsuoka Mayu and Kaku Kento. The movie will be released in cinemas from 17 March and is set two years after the end of the last movie "Chihayafuru Shimo no Ku".
Hirose commented that it had been two years since news of the sequel's production was announced so she felt really happy about the movie finally being ready. The cast also spoke about how they enjoyed the filming.
When asked about the difference between their real personalities and their characters in the movie, Matsuoka who plays the reigning karuta queen, said that her character was aloof and quiet but she is actually the type who is always in high spirits. As such, she was glad that she could finally be her true self at the event. Kaku who plays a karuta meijin, also spoke of how he was unsure whether he should behave as normal or take on his role's persona on the set and revealed that he is like Matsuoka in real life.
During the event, Nomura asked Arata a question as to what he would do to make the girl he likes pay attention to him even though she is obsessed with something else. Arata said that he would be patient to wait and support the girl until she achieves her goal which led the audience to squeal in delight as he looked towards Hirose. Nomura then commented that he is the type to take action immediately and "complained" when Hirose was looking towards Arata before grabbing her shoulders and making her face him. Hirose revealed that she preferred Arata's answer which led Nomura to express his disappointment. Upon seeing this, Matsuoka chipped in to say that she liked Nomura's method but not him though which then led the latter to remark that if it was Arata who used his method, the girls would probably like it better.
