The completion screening event of new movie "Boku no tsuma to kekkon shite kudasai" was held on 3 October which was attended by the director Miyake Yoshishige and the cast members Oda Yuji, Yoshida Yo, Harada Taizo, Mori Kanna and Komie Kaito. The movie which will be screened in cinemas from 5 November, features Oda as the lead character Mimura Shuji, a popular TV broadcast writer who is told that he has a terminal illness. In order to ensure that his family can live on properly after his demise, Shuji tries to find a remarriage partner for his wife Ayako (Yoshida).
Oda who last starred in the 2012 movie "Odoru Daisousasen THE FINAL Aratanaru Kibou", recounted that when he got the offer to star in this movie, he was so happy about it until he felt like crying and said that it was great that he was able to participate in this movie. As he had never acted in something like this, he wanted to challenge himself in his nearly 30 years-long career.
