Completion screening event of new WOWOW drama "Cold Case ~ Shinjitsu no Tobira"

The completion screening event of new WOWOW drama "Cold Case ~ Shinjitsu no Tobira" was held on 12 October which was attended by the director Hatano Takafumi and cast members Yoshida Yo, Nagayama Kento, Miura Tomokazu, Takito Kenichi and Mitsuishi Ken. The drama consists of 10 episodes and begins its run from 22 October in the Saturdays 10pm timeslot. This is the Japanese remake of the hit US drama series "Cold Case" which consisted of 7 seasons over 10 years from 2003 and is set at Kanagawa Prefectural Police where Ishikawa Yuri (Yoshida) works with her colleagues to solve old cases.

Hatano revealed that there was a surprise that the cast had prepared for the staff. Miura elaborated on this on behalf of the cast and "complained" that the director had made the staff work so hard that there was no time for them to rest. The cast wanted to do something for the staff but there was no opportunity to even buy boxed lunches for them. In the end, the cast decided to prepare cash gifts for the staff which is the first time they have done something like this. Hatano commented that the cast being highly satisfied with the quality of the work led them to do this. Yoshida added on by saying that they were touched by the staff's dedication and hoped that the viewers will be able to see the effort put in and pride of WOWOW through this drama which they are very proud of.

Yoshida said that usually, it is difficult for actors to raise expectations by praising the works they appear in without sounding like promotional talk but she stressed that it will be a pity to miss even one episode of this drama. In particular, she likes the drama's theme of not leaving anyone behind in the search for the truth and revealed how happy she was working with her co-stars and developed mutual respect for one another.

Nagayama who is the youngest in the cast, said that he was overwhelmed by his co-stars' strength at first and put in his best for this drama. However, he revealed that even though he had appeared in 5 WOWOW dramas to date, he still hasn't subscribed to the service yet which led Yoshida to joke that he should solve the issue immediately and even asked him if he knows how to subscribe.
