The press conference and first-episode-screening event of TV Tokyo Autumn 2016 drama "Yuusha Yoshihiko to Michibikareshi Shichinin" was held on 6 October which was attended by the director Fukuda Yuichi and cast members Yamada Takayuki, Kinami Haruka, Muro Tsuyoshi, Sato Jiro and Takuma Shin. The drama which begins its run from 7 October in the Fridays 12.12am timeslot, is the third installment in the low-budget adventure series shown in the midnight timeslot.
During the event, a member of the audience asked the cast to reveal their favourite magic spell from Merebu played by Muro where Fukuda suddenly directed it to Sato and asked if he watched the broadcast of the drama. Sato was at a loss for words when Muro teased for not lying that he did watch the drama. In response, Sato revealed that since he plays the Buddha, he would not have been subjected to any spells by Merebu so he didn't know what spells he could cast. Fukuda then explained jokingly that Sato had a reason for not being able to watch the drama at home since his child is still young so he can't let the child see such an "inappropriate" drama where everyone was fooling around. This led the cast to burst out laughing at Fukuda's comments.
Yamada revealed that it had been 4 years since the last installment and preparations started way back 18 months ago when he and Fukuda discussed on what to do. However, when he commented that the first episode is very interesting and called upon the viewers to carry on watching the other episodes, Fukuda "told him off" by saying that Yamada seemed to be like an outsider not involved in this drama while Sato "complained" that he should not be saying that so blandly as the lead actor.
Muro revealed that during the filming, Yamada and he went out for drinks almost every night like lovers on a date. However, once the filming ended, Yamada stopped asking him out which led Muro to wonder if he was with another man. In response, Yamada joked that he had taken many embarrassing photos of Muro during their drinking sessions and would find a suitable time to upload them onto social media.
