Tanaka Kei suffered bruises to his head and scratches on his body after he was knocked down by a 2-tonne truck at Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, in the early hours of 9 November. According to investigations by Tamagawa Police Station, Tanaka had finished performing in the stage play "Kamome" at Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre in Nishi Ikebukuro during the evening of 8 November and gone drinking with his friends. After taking a cab back to his neighbourhood, he was crossing the road to go home when the truck hit him. Tanaka then walked back home to tell his family members about the accident before they called an ambulance to send him to the hospital for treatment. The police station is investigating if the truck driver did not pay attention to the front when driving thus causing the accident. Tanaka's agency confirmed the accident and said that his injuries were mild so he was fit enough to perform for the play's 9 November session.
