Cast announcement for movie "Sangatsu no Lion"

The supporting cast lineup for new movie "Sangatsu no Lion" spanning two parts and starring Kamiki Ryunosuke was announced on 6 July. Besides Kamiki who plays the lead character Kiriyama Rei, here is the list of the supporting cast and the characters they play:

Shimada Kai - Sasaki Kuranosuke  (professional shogi player who invites Rei to the shogi research club)

Goto Masamnue - Ito Hideaki

Soya Toji - Kase Ryo (the 4th person in history to have become a professional shogi player while he was still in junior high)

Kawamoto Akari - Kurashina Kana

Kawamoto Hinata - Kiyohara Kaya

Kawamoto Momo - Niitsu Chise

Kawamoto Someji - Maeda Gin

Kouda Kyoko - Arimura Kasumi (Rei's sister-in-law)

Kouda Masachika - Toyokawa Etsushi (Rei's father's friend and Rei's shoji master)

The movie will be directed by Ootomo Keishi and due to be shown in spring 2017.
