The drama SP which is based on the same-titled novel published by Takasugi Ryo in 1986, describes the life of Yatabe Taizo (Ihara) before and after WWII as he grew his small business Okita Gosei Kagaku Kogyo in a small town of Osaka to become the internationally-renowed Nisshoku Kagaku Kogyo.
