NTV Winter 2017 drama "Tokyo Tarareba Musume" starring Yoshitaka Yuriko, Eikura Nana and Oshima Yuko will have its spin-off drama to be shown via Hulu from 22nd February. The drama titled "Tokyo Dara Dara Musume" (Tokyo Slovenly Girls) which consists of 5 episodes to be released every Wednesday, features three women played by Sato Hitomi, Ozawa Maju and Kobayashi Kinako who are around the age of 40 i.e. 10 years older than the original cast. Sato will play a freeter Ranko while Ozawa and Kobayashi will play Saori, a beautician and Koume, the manager at an izakaya respectively. The three of them are all single and spend their time at a drinking place Nondakure having girls' gatherings and talking about everything under the sun without qualms.
With regard to their images in the drama looking very similar to the original trio, Sato apologised with a smile to the fans of Yoshitaka, Eikura and Oshima and hoped that they are not offended by the three of them looking like this in the spin-off drama. As for the selling point of this drama, Sato said that the gatherings aren't as slovenly as they may seem where they will talk about some topics which are bound to resonate with people of all age groups. Kobayashi commented that unlike the Tarareba generation which still has some possibilities to explore in the future, they are already at the stage where they don't want to waste too much energy on men and spend time talking about the what-ifs. As such, their talk will offer a different perspective from the Tarareba girls. Ozawa also chipped in to say that the feeling of being resigned to fate and given up on certain things will probably be more obvious in their lines but at the same time, the feeling of being free from restrictions will also come across more strongly in their drama.
