Completion screening event of new NHK drama "Uso nante hitotsu mo nai no"

The completion screening event of new NHK drama "Uso nante hitotsu mo nai" (There is not even a single lie) was held at NHK's HQ in Tokyo on 1 March which was attended by the leads Suga Kenta and Ishii Anna. The drama is conceptualised by CM planner Shinohara Makoto and written by and directed by Fujimoto Kyota and Hagiwara Kentaro respectively who won the Sundance Institute NHK Award. It begins its run from 7 March in the Tuesdays 11.15pm timeslot and consists of 4 episodes.

Suga plays the lead character Yamazaki Makoto who is suffering from communication phobia after he was hurt emotionally by a lie and spent 7 years cooped up in his room. While being deceived by a girl with exactly the same name as him but with different Kanji characters (Ishii), Makoto sees that there is truth within lies and tries to survive in this world full of lies by taking steps to overcome his emotional barrier. In order to look convincing as the character, he let his hair grow long and messy.

Suga revealed that during the filming, Ishii had bought hot eye masks to give to everyone which he felt was such a thoughtful gesture especially after hearing about the reason. Ishii explained that Suga had a lot more scenes than her since he was the lead and should have been very exhausted. However, he did not let it show at all so she wanted to help him rest well by having a good sleep with the eye mask.
