The female cast lineup of TV Tokyo Spring 2017 drama "Hyakumanen no Onnatachi" starring RADWIMPS' Noda Yojiro has been announced. The drama which begins its run from 13 April in the Thursdays 11am timeslot, is based on the same-titled manga by Aono Shunjuu and features Noda as the lead character Michima Shin, a struggling writer who suddenly finds himself living with 5 mysterious women under the same roof. The women pay him a huge amount of rent totaling one million yen every month but their motive for getting close to him and their true identities will only be known as the story progresses. At the same time, Shin also finds his life changed in a drastic way through living with these women.
The five actresses playing the women paying Shin to live with them are Fukushima Rila who plays Shirakawa Minami, Matsui Rena who plays Tsukamoto Hitomi, Wagatsuma Miwako who plays Kobayashi Yuki, Takeda Rena who plays Suzumura Midori and Araki Yuuko who plays Hiraki Nanaka. In the original manga, Shirakawa Minami appears in her birthday suit most of the time at home so when Fukushima got the offer, she was apprehensive about it. However, after she read the manga, she didn't mind the nudity part anymore since she grew to know more about the character and became drawn to her. Fukushima even joked that she might find it more embarrassing to be wearing clothes after the filming ends as she could have gotten used to being nude by then. As for Matsui who plays the bookworm Hitomi, she hopes to convey the same impact she got from reading the manga through this drama and will try her best to play her character.
This drama will also be available for viewing via Netflix from 7 April.
