According to media reports, Oshima Yuko will be suspending her work activities for the time being so as to realise her dream of going overseas. When asked about these reports, Oshima's agency confirmed that she had always wanted to go overseas for a while and decided to do this before she turns 30. However, as this is her private matter, they will not be releasing any details regarding when she is due to depart or how long she will be away. Oshima recently hinted at her plans to take a break from work during a fan event held at Sendai on 2 July which was met with warm applause from her fans. The events will run till the end of this month at various locations nationwide so it is expected that she will begin her break after that.Oshima started as a child actor before she joined AKB48 as a member of its second batch in 2006. She won the top title in the 2nd and 4th AKB48 elections and left the group in June 2014. Since then, she has appeared in a number of movies and dramas. During the days when she was in AKB48, she had traveled extensively and also went to places like Iceland, Spain and Mexico for the shooting of TV programmes, photobooks and calendars.
