Shiina Kippei will be starring in the new WOWOW drama "Megabank Saishu Kessen" (Megabank The Last Battle) which will begin its run from 14 February 2016 in the Sundays 10pm timeslot. This is the first time Shiina is taking on the leading role in a WOWOW drama.
The drama which is based on legendary fund manager Hatano Sho's novel "Megabank Zetsumetsu Sensou", features Shiina as a securities dealer who works at a mega bank which is seriously in debt due to the crash of the Japanese government bonds and how he tries to rescue his bank from an internal plot and external forces which leads to a hostile takeover.
Shiina who celebrates his 30th anniversary as an actor next year, commented that although banks play an integral part in our lives, it is difficult to know what goes on within. However, with the script emphasizing on reality and trying to project an accurate picture of the internal situation, he hopes that the tough journey to survive in the corporation with bravery, passion and gentleness will attract viewers to stay tuned to this drama.
Kiritani Kenta will play Shiina's partner in helping to save the bank. Other co-stars include Ishibashi Ryo, Ogawa Tamaki and Otozuki Kei.
