CHEMISTRY will reunite for the first time in 5 years since they announced the suspension of their group activities in April 2012. In the video released on their pfficial website, the members Douchin Yoshikuni and Kawabata Kaname announced that they will be back with a one-man live concert at Tokyo International Forum Hall A on 28 February and 1 March next year.
Douchin and Kawabata were selected from about 20,000 applicants in the "Chou Danshi Audition" of TV Tokyo programme "ASAYAN" to form the duo CHEMISTRY and made their debut in March 2001 with the single "PIECES OF A DREAM" which was a million-seller. Their subsequent albums "The Way We Are" and "Second to None" released in July 2001 and January 2003 respectively were also double-million sellers. In their 10th anniversary year, the duo announced their plans to focus on their solo careers and suspended their group activities.
The members commented that after they went solo, they have become stronger and better. In response to their fans' wishes to see them reunited and 2016 being their 15th anniversary since their debut, the two of them actually discussed the plan to regroup among themselves way back during the New Year holidays two years ago and decided to resume their group activities through the live concerts first.
The concert tickets will be sold to Douchin's and Kawabata's fanclubs first before being released to the public from 28 January at 10am.
