Since the title is "Hatsuyuki" i.e. first snow, I think that the time setting of the SP should be from late autumn to early winter so that's why the background features autumn stuff.

Unfortunately, I have no idea where you can watch a subbed version of this drama SP. Perhaps you can try sites like Drama Addicts to see if any fansubbers may have worked on this?
