Kikuchi Rinko and Sometani Shota announced on New Year's Day through a joint statement published on Sometani's official website that they had registered their marriage. In the statement, the couple who are 11 years apart in age, pledged to support each other, continue to work hard in their acting careers and build a happy family. They ended the statement by asking for the warm support of everyone around them.
Kikuchi and Sometani got to know each other through mutual friends at the beginning of last year and started dating soon. Their relationship was first reported in November when some tabloids published photos of them kissing on the streets and staying together in the same apartment.
