Mukai Osamu to play Ikeda Tsuneoki in FujiTV Autumn 2014 drama "Nobunaga Concerto"

Mukai Osamu will be playing the role of Ikeda Tsuneoki, the no.1 retainer under Oda Nobunaga, in the upcoming FujiTV Autumn 2014 drama "Nobunaga Concerto" which begins its run from 13 October in the Mondays 9pm timeslot (Gekku). Mukai last appeared in a Gekku back in 2006 when he acted in "Nodame Cantabile" and had wondered then why a comedy like this was being shown in this timeslot which was traditionally known for its romance stories. This time, "Nobunaga Concerto" is the first period drama shown in the Gekku timeslot which had also interested Mukai for being different from the norm and he promised to work hard in supporting Oguri just like how Ikeda had done for Nobunaga. Mukai and Oguri last worked together in the TBS drama SP "Kikoku" in 2010 so this marks their first collaboration in a full-length drama series.
