Completion screening event of new movie "Uso Happyaku"

The completion screening event of new movie "Uso Happyaku" was held at Iino Hall on 17 December which was attended by the director Take Masaharu and cast members Nakai Kiichi, Sasaki Kuranosuke, Tomochika, Morikawa Aoi, Maeno Tomoya, Horiuchi Keiko, Sakata Toshio, Kinoshita Houka, Tsukaji Muga, Ashiya Kogan and Kondo Masaomi. The movie which will be shown in cinemas from 5 January 2018, features Nakai in the role of an antique dealer Norio from the Kanto region who hasn't been able to get much work and meets a ceramic artist Sasuke (Sasaki) by chance. While trying to lay their hands on a legendary tea set of Rikyu, they get embroiled in a battle of wits involving their families, appraisers and the Cultural Agency.

At the beginning of the event, Nakai commented that this was the first time in his 37-year career that so many actors had gathered for such an event and joked that there were some who expressed their wish to come. On the other hand, Sasaki said that although they had already done a similar event in Osaka, this was the first time that the movie was shown to the audiences in the Kanto region so he hoped that everyone would enjoy the film as much as the cast had enjoyed coming to meet them.

Morikawa who plays Norio's daughter Imari in the movie, revealed an episode between her and Nakai where she went to him for advice before an important audition. Although Nakai assured her that she would do fine, she still failed the audition and informed him about the outcome via email. She was surprised when Nakai replied to her saying that it was a good thing and found out that what he meant was that, even if she had failed this time, this would mean that she would have a chance to come across another good work in future and it was just a matter of timing. While being encouraged by his words, Morikawa said that it was great that she managed to participate in this movie and thanked Nakai for his encouragement.

When asked about their new year aspirations, Sasaki said that he had none but it wasn't because he had no goals in the new year but rather he would forget about his New Year resolutions by the time he gets to early February. At the end of the event, Sasaki asked the audience to promote their movie whether they liked it or not while Nakai joked that those interested in Sakata or Kinoshita who had openly "asked" for someone to marry them during the event should leave their particulars with the staff later.
