Red carpet event and completion press conference of new movie "Inori no maku ga orirutoki"

The red carpet event and completion press conference of new movie "Inori no maku ga orirutoki" was held at COREDO Muromachi 2 Yoko no nakadoori on 12 December which was attended by the director Fukuzawa Katsuo and cast members Abe Hiroshi, Matsushima Nanako, Mizobata Junpei, Tanaka Rena, Shunputei Shota, Iitoyo Marie, Ito Ran and Kohinata Fumiyo. The movie will be shown in cinemas from 27 January and is the final installment of the "Shinzanmono" series by Higashino Keigo.

The story will reveal the biggest unresolved mystery in the series i.e. the truth behind the disappearance of Kaga's mother and why Kaga became a Shinzanmono in the local precincts despite his stellar credentials while Kaga tries to resolve the murder case of Asai Hiromi's (Matsushima) ex-classmate Oshitani Michiko who lived in Shiga Prefecture but was found dead in an apartment in Katsushika Ward, Tokyo. The apartment's resident Koshigawa Mutsuo has gone missing thus making it difficult for Kaga and Matsumiya (Mizobata) to make much progress in their investigations. Later, they find that Michiko had come to Tokyo to visit Asai who is directing a play performed at Meijiza in Nihonbashi but there is nothing linking her to the missing Mutsuo as well. When a burnt body is found nearby, an item left behind by the deceased had the names of the 12 bridges in Nihonbashi. Kaga is shaken by the revelation which suggests a link to his mother who had died alone...

Abe who had played the character Kaga over 8 years, commented that this was the first time that he had played such a straightforward person and the core of his acting career since he returns to the role once every few years. As such, he was sad that this movie will mark the end of his journey with Kaga. 8 years ago, he also walked on the red carpet for this series so he was filled with a lot of emotion as he thanked everyone for their unwavering support over the years.

Matsushima who is working with Abe for the first time in this movie, revealed that she had watched the drama series before and had the impression that she was seeing Kaga when she met Abe. With regard to her role, she described Asai as a mysterious presence in the story and hoped that she will leave an impression on everyone who watches this movie. As for Abe, he said that he always had the impression that Matsushima is a very cool person like how she appeared in the drama "Kaseifu no Mita" but he was pleasantly surprised to see how warm she is in person. Matsushima then followed up by saying that although Abe looks cool on the surface, he's actually quite mischievous and funny at the same time and expressed hope that they can work together again in future.

Mizobata who had been with the series since day 1, reflected that he was just starting out as an actor in Tokyo at that time and was especially impressed then by the locals in Ningyocho who showed a lot of support for their filming then and how much they loved their town. As such, he hoped that the series would have shown the brilliance of this area to a certain extent and was sad that this would be the last installment in the series. Iitoyo who plays the younger version of Asai in her 20s, commented that she was really nervous because she had a lot of crying scenes and felt the pressure of playing the younger version of Matsushima.
