The production press conference of TBS Winter 2018 drama "99.9 Keiji Senmon Bengoshi SEASON II" was held on 7 January which was attended by cast members Matsumoto Jun, Kimura Fumino, Kagawa Teruyuki, Katagiri Jin, Magy, Babazono Azusa and Kishibe Ittoku. The drama which is the sequel to the first series shown in Spring 2016, begins its run from 14 January and features Kimura as the new heroine.
Although filming began in August last year, there was a break of 3 months before they resumed it from 6 January this year. Matsumoto commented that as it had been a while since the last filming, he called upon his co-stars to do a script-reading session on 5 January at TBS. Kagawa remarked that this was the first time that he had attended a gathering like this which involved only actors and praised Matsumoto for being so serious about this drama. In response, Matsumoto pledged to make the sequel an even bigger success than the first series.
Kagawa then revealed that the ad-libs in their lines were largely the work of Magy as he is also a scriptwriter besides being an actor. Coupled with Matsumoto who has a lot of experience in producing Arashi's concerts, they would fine-tune their lines and on the set and make suggestions to improve the flow of the dialogue. Kagawa also said that Matsumoto was practising his puns so much by recording them as many as 50 to 100 times on his iPhone so as to get the correct tone and tempo even though he should have devoted the same amount of attention to his lines. However, Kagawa joked that he "forgave" Matsumoto for placing his priorities in the "wrong" place because he saw how much effort the latter put in.
