Ikuta Toma will be starring in the new movie "Himitsu THE TOP SECRET' which is due to be shown in cinemas next year. The film which is based on the same-titled manga by Shimizu Rieko, will be directed by Otomo Keishi who was responsible for the "Rurouni Kenshin" series. The story takes place in the 9th forensic pathology research office of the scienfic police department commonly known as "Daikyuu" where the first MRI scanner which can visualise the memories of a dead person's brain was invested. Daikyuu is instructed to investigate a strange case where there are few leads. Ikuta plays the person-in-charge of Daikyuu named Maki Tsuyoshi who is smart but has a hidden emotional trauma. Okada Masaki will play a newbie investigator Aoki Kazuyuki who joins Daikyuu. The two of them last worked together in the drama SP of "Hanazakari no Kimitachi e ~ Ikemen Paradise ~" in 2008. Co-stars also include Kuriyama Chiaki who plays a medical examiner and Omori Nao as a police detective.
Ikuta revealed that on the set, the cast and staff calls him "Shitsucho" (Chief) which makes him feel as if he has become a very important person. He hopes to show the aloofness in Maki and how he looks down on other people while expressing the themes of humans' weakness, desperation and hope through this movie. As for Okada, he said that this is the first time he is acting in a Otomo movie and is very excited and nervous about it.
Filming began from 27th April.
