Matsuyama Kenichi will be starring in the NTV summer 2015 drama "Do Konjo Gaeru" which will begin its run from July in the Saturdays 9pm timeslot. This will be his first leading role in a private network drama since NTV's winter 2009 drama "Zenigeba". The drama which is based on the comedic manga by Yoshizawa Yasumi and first made into an anime in 1972, talks about a junior high student Hiroshi who accidentally trips over a stone while walking in a park and flattens a frog named Pyonkichi that results in it being stuck to his T-shirt in 2D form. As a result, Hiroshi and Pyonkichi have to live together which result in a series of hillarious series.
However, the drama series which is the first real-life adaptation of the manga, will be an original story set 16 years after Hiroshi's first encounter with Pyonkichi when he becomes a 30-year-old man who's tired of life's struggles and has achieved nothing so far. Due to an incident, Hiroshi decides to do something to change his current situation. For the scenes with Pyonkichi on Hiroshi's T-shirt, they will be done by VFX.
