SMAP will finally speak on the breakup saga facing them for the first time on tonight's broadcast of "SMAPxSMAP" at 10pm as part of the programme will feature a live segment where the members are expected to apologise for the controversy and explain what is going on. It is believed that the group should have averted the breakup crisis thus are ready to talk about it now.
Despite initial reports last week about the group facing a possible breakup due to Nakai, Inagaki, Kusanagi and Katori wanting to follow their manager Iijima after she leaves Johnny's Jimusho while Kimura chooses to stay put, it was said that Nakai and Kimura had met up on 6th January during the filming of "SMAPxSMAP" when they talked about the issue and decided that the group would not break up. Subsequently, they also met up with Iijima where they finally ironed out their differences over the independence movement.

Finally we can hear the story from SMAP themselves tonight. Though I'm sure not all details could be revealed. Like most people, I just hope they won't disband, either they will remain in Johnny's or not. At least hoping it will be a win-win solution for all.
