Matsuzaka Tori will be playing a blind lawyer in the upcoming TBS drama SP "Zenbou no Boku ga bengoshi ni natta riyuu ~ Jitsuwa ni motozuku kandou suspense ~" (The reason why I who am blind became a lawyer ~ a touching suspense story based on a true story) which will be shown on 1 December at 9pm. The drama SP which is based on the book written by visually-impaired lawyer Ogoda Makoto, features Matsuzaka as Ogoda who lost his sight when he was in Primary 6 and overcame the odds to become a lawyer because he wanted to help the weak. Although he is unable to see, he relies on his hearing and sense of touch to get to the truth behind the case.
As this is the first time that Matsuzaka is playing a lawyer, he went to a courtroom to observe how case hearings were conducted. In addition, he also went to Ogoda's law firm and even stayed over at the latter's place to interview him and interact with his family members.
Filming was completed in June this year.
