Shiraishi Junya and Suzuki Ryohei will be co-leads in the upcoming TBS autumn 2013 drama "Higanjima" which begins its run from October. The O.A. timeslot has not been decided yet.
The drama which is based on the same-titled manga by Matsumoto Koji that has sold more than 5.6 million copies to date, is the first drama adaptation of the manga. It will be directed by Miike Takashi who is famous for his movies such as "Aku no Kyoden". Suzuki and Shiraishi who both belong to the agency Horipro, will be playing brothers in their first collaboration where Shiraishi plays the younger brother Miyamoto Akira who heads to an isolated island Higanjima to look for his missing elder brother Atsushi but finds himself in a living hell where he has to fend on vampires which survive on human blood.
