TOKIO's Joshima Shigeru to sing the theme song for TV Asahi Spring 2018 drama "Kaseifu no Mitazono 2" in his female persona

TOKIO's Joshima Shigeru will be singing the theme song for TV Asahi Spring 2018 drama "Kaseifu no Mitazono 2" starring fellow member Matsuoka Masahiro which will be shown from 20 April in the Fridays 11.15pm timeslot. However, he will be appearing in his female persona Shima Shigeko who is a 47-year-old singer created last August when "she" sang the song "Onna no sakamichi" written by "herself" which was the coupling song for TOKIO's single "Kumo". The theme song "Zaregoto" (Nonsense) will be included in "her" same-titled solo debut DVD to be released on 16 May and the first press limited edition comes with a calendar featuring her photos. For the first press normal edition, the Shigeko Zaregoto Sugoroku board game will be included.

At the time when Shima had her song included in the TOKIO single, she commented that this was because she had some "relationships" with them thus allowing her to do so. In the same month of the single's release, she held a recital at Ikebukuro Sunshine City's fountain square where 2,000 people came to watch the performance. This time, since the lead character played by Matsuoka is also dressed as a woman, this resulted in Shima being offered the chance to sing the theme song.

"Zaregoto" is a rock song with a heavy melody and the lyrics were written by Shima who tried to stick to the drama's theme as much as possible to the extent of rewriting the lyrics 5 times. Even when she was about to record the song in the studio, she was still amending it. With regard to Shima's debut being linked to this drama, she expressed her joy about her good fortune and that even though she is only making her debut at this age, she hoped to be able to improve every day over time.
