Horikita Maki will be starring in the new movie "Mugiko-san to" (With Mugiko-san) which is due to be shown this autumn. She plays the role of Mugiko, an otaku girl who loves anime and works at an anime merchandise shop while dreaming of becoming a voice actor. When her mother passes away, Mugiko returns to her mother's hometown with the latter's remains. Mugiko had all along through that her mother was a bad woman but when she sees that how she was seen as the town's idol and how much she was loved by the locals, she starts to develop a different opinion of her mother. Matsuda Ryuhei will work with Horikita for the first time and plays her elder brother in the movie. Filming began on 23 January at Tsuru City in Yamanashi Prefecture until 16 February.
