The premiere screening of TBS summer 2014 drama "Dousousei ~ Hito wa, Sando, Koi wo suru ~" was held on 30 June which was attended by the lead cast members Iura Arata, Inamori Izumi, Itaya Yuka and TOKIO's Matsuoka Masahiro. The drama which will begin its run from 10 July at 9pm on Thursdays, features the four of them as former junior high school classmates who reunite for the first time in 15 years at the age of 40 where Kenta (Iura) and Akehi (Inamori) fall in love with each other while Ryosuke (Matsuoka) and Kaoruko (Itaya) begin an unlikely romance.
Iura commented about his character that although Kenta is already 40, he still has this innocent side in him which led Matsuoka to joke that he is an innocent middle-aged man. As for Inamori, she said that the biggest selling point of this drama was to see how people in their 40s fall in love and move according to their passion. Matsuoka who is acting in a romance drama for the first time, admitted that he felt quite embarrassed while acting but thinks that this drama might be a good guide for people to have better relationships in their own lives.
When asked about the highlight of episode 1, Iura said that there are many but joked that Kaoruko's (Itaya) sneeze should be the best which led the audience to laugh. In return, Itaya said that the scenes featuring the two male leads would be very appealing to the female viewers.
The cast also revealed that they went for a drink in Shinjuku by themselves after filming on one night and started to come up with nicknames to call one another. In the end, they decided to call Iura "Shin-kun" (another reading of his Kanji first name).
