Miura Haruma will be starring in the real-life adaptation movie of popular manga "Shingeki no Kyojin" (Attack on Titan) by Isayama Hajime which will be directed by Higuchi Shinji and due to be shown in cinemas next year. Filming is expected to begin in early summer this year.
News of the real-life adaptation was first revealed in October 2011 but the original director Nakashima Tetsuya was dropped which led to plans for the movie being scrapped. It was only until Higuchi picked up the project again in December last year before Miura was finally chosen to play the lead. This will be Miura's first leading role in a movie since his last in June 2011's "Tokyo Koen" and he will have to fight against a Titan which is expected to be at least 60 metres tall. In order to portray the state of ruins left behind by the Titan's attack, the filming is expected to be done at Hashima Island (commonly known as Gunkanjima), Nagasaki which is known as the sacred place of ruins.
