Matsuda Shota will be starring in the drama and movie adaptations of manga "Dias Police - Ihou Keisatsu -" which will be shown via TBS in its midnight slot this coming spring (timeslot undecided yet) and screened in cinemas this summer respectively. The manga which was serialised in manga magazine "Morning" between 2006 and 2009, features the lead character Kubozuka as the sole police officer working in a self-governing society in Tokyo made up of foreigners who had entered the country illegally. He sets out to investigate various problems such as organ trafficking and forced labour in order to help the weak.
Matsuda who had been a fan of the manga, aspired to play the lead character if it was ever adapted into a drama or movie so is very happy to be a part of this production and hopes that this will become a signature work of his. There were some minor changes made to Kubozuka's image such as his afro hairstyle being changed to a more stylish one and his jeans being changed to jersey-type material.
Filming for the drama ended in December last year while the filming for the movie is in progress.
