The completion screening event of new WOWOW drama "Megabank Saishu Kessen" was held on 4 February which was attended by the cast Shiina Kippei, Kiritani Kenta, Ishibashi Ryo, Ogawa Tamaki and Otozuki Kei. The drama which will begin its run from 14 February in the Sundays 10pm timeslot, is based on the novel by Hatano Sho.
Shiina plays the role of a skillful dealer who works in a megabank that finds itself saddled with huge debts due to the fall of Japan's national bonds and teams up with Kiritani's character who is a member of the general affairs department to complete the largest merger deal to date.
During the event, there was a small celebration for Kiritani who celebrated his 36th birthday on the same day. A cake bearing a sketch of him was brought onto stage and the audience popped crackers for him. Kiritani admitted that he did see the words "surprise" and "cake" on the rundown sheet and wondered if it was for him but he didn't know about the crackers so was pleasantly surprised.
